Driver's side manual window problems-worn internal rivet 200 1990

The window would click when in the near-closed position. I removed the interior door panel and found that one of the flat red plastic washers that run on one of the nylon sheathed tracks had broken, but the main cause seemed to be the hard to see rivet that holds the scissor mechanism together had worn severely. Anyone had this problem?

I put a bolt and nut through the mechanism but since one side of the rivet was circular and the other was an oval shape there is a bit of play in the movement and now the window functions worse than before. I thought about removing the mechanism drilling both holes where the rivet was (circular and oval) to a larger circular size and placing a larger bolt through the holes.
