Temp sensor update 200

So I got to thinking, which is dangerous, but anyway without looking too extensively I found an old thread on the subject in which Dave Shannon says the water temp sensor for the temp gauge will work.
See Ambient temp gauge wiring

Also in that thread Dale Walmsley had a comment on existing wiring for the sender. I kind of doubt if the later models have it but it might be worth a look.

A check of egauges reveals they have an ambient temp sensor for $29.86. VDO p/n 323-087.

However, they also have the coolant temp sensor for $6.84. VDO part number is 323-095 as mentioned by Daveshan. Volvo p/n is 460191-0.

Also I must defer to Paul on the power source. Much easier to get it from the fuse panel than another device.

Art is definitely the man. His know-how and experience are exceeded only by his modesty.
