Hey guys, thanks for the responses.
I'm sure you know of the "read the faq" trend here... I ran into the "clean the carbs" trend at gsresources and thought I might get some alternate opinions. It worked.
Anyhow, the bike had been not run for most of the summer. I ran it every 3-4 weeks in the fall, no problem. Then I didn't run it for a few weeks, swapped out the gas, and added gas with fuel stabilizer, in case it would be sitting around.
I'd been starting it regularly (read every 2 weeks), and I think the fuel stabilizer, or the chevron gas, gummed up the carbs. It sat for maybe 2 weeks, and then this.
I started it, pulled/cleaned/replaced the plugs a couple times and it all cleared out, but the left two carbs aren't running right at idle. I do have to clean the carbs (heh, was planning on it, just not this week).
Only a couple of the plugs fouled after the first cleaning, and it disappeared pretty fast. They would start fine, then foul after about 30 seconds.
Thanks for the replies. I'm raring to get on the bike, but I need to find another copy of the service manual pdf I had, or pull it off my other (sick) computer.
Happy bricking,
William
