When to adjust valves and timing? 120-130

10°BTDC for all B18/B20/B30 engines. Sometimes 15° is quoted for B18B, but it's at 1500rpm, not idle.

The one vintage Volvo guy near me is charging $350+ for a valve adjustment alone seems high to me.

He's charging $1400/hour!

You can get away with adjusting the tappets once every 100,000 miles & points adjustment should last for ages too, i.e., if the timing hasn't changed since last time you checked it then your points gap hasn't changed.
