NOW it works ! What gives ?

I made a post earlier asking for help in regard to the air on the wife's '94 940 w/ 287K.

The tech filled it with the proper weight of R134; the new compressor would start, then stop, but would not stay running. He had no clue. He was a bit perplexed in that the car had no high side connection ??

Went back to get it this morning ....working fine ...cold air to spare. He had done nothing other than pull a good vacuum and fill to the proper weight yesterday.

Anyone have an idea why or what went on here? Just curious and want to learn as it looks like I will be driving old bricks like this for many years. :)
