Help rear pinion seal leak multiple times with Mobil 1 gear oil 900

93 940 with locking rear end 1041

I changed the gear lube and replaced it with Moblil 1 75-90 wt at 89K miles, then the pinion seal started leaking shortly afterwards 93K miles.

I then replace it at 93K miles and used Mobil 1. It then lasted until 178K miles. I replaced it again at 178K and put a speedy sleeve on and used Mobil 1 and now at 205K miles it is leaking again. The surface looked ok but I put the sleeve on just to be sure.

Do you think the Mobil 1 75-90 is too thin (book calls for 90wt or 80/90wt) which is causing the leak. It seems to leak most when it gets warm or after a long drive.

Any ideas on what to do next. Maybe 75-140 would be thicker when it gets warm which would prevent it from leaking out?
