crankcase pressure=turbo leaks?

93 volvo 940 turbo. im trying to figure out why the turbo leaks oil past the seals after replacing them. this leaking makes large smoke. the compression is when cold from the back 180 180 160 160. this seems not too bad. oil is being forced past the oil cap seal. the seal is still soft. i cleaned out the breather box. i made an adapter to be able to run the engine with out the turbo to see if the smoking stopped, which it did. while i was doing this i noticed a lot of blowby coming out of the turbo drain inlet on the block. this was with the breather hoses open to the atmosphere. im wondering if this could be preventing the turbo from being able to drain, in turn forcing oil past the seals.
