Yep it just turned out to be the amm. Good thing I had that spare lying around. Worth it to buy them from the junkyard when the 016's appear. Anyway thanks again to those who replied - it was a huge time-saver in that we didn't have to go through every other part on the car only to find the amm was the problem.

That was a relief.
