'71 145- Idle wander/No power combo 140-160

Hello, well after some wonderful help with adjusting valves, gapping points, new plugs, fixing choke cables, finding a massive vacuum leak at brake booster, the compression in my "non-running" 145 checked out great, 150/150/143/148. Compared to my original data 60/60/140/100 after sitting for over a year and not running, I'm pretty pleased to say the least... Anyway, now the issue is a near complete lack of power, and the idle wanders around very low than it will rise, and than it will go lower again. Literally had to floor it in first to get up the small hill on our street. We checked the timing and it was about 10, and the carbs are adjusted to approx. 14 flats down. No oil in coolant tank and the oil on dipstick looks perfect. I was thinking possibly a worn distributor, but I would welcome some expert suggestions on where to start next... Thanks in advance!
