Solderless Wiring, fuel pump sending unit 700 1988

Hey guys, good evening...

I had to wire up a fuel pump in tank sending unit today. The soldering iron I have is junk and I need to get this thing in the car. I stripped about a half inch off the end of all the wires I was connecting, then I basically did a braid twist type thing with the bare wires and slid up a piece of shrink tubing I had previously put on the wire, put heat to it and there. The wire balls were neat and tight, very secure. Is there any negative consequence to not using solder and having the connecting basically a wire knot? Thanks
