Big Oil Leak after oil change! 200 1986

1986 245DL 277K miles,

Changed Inga's Oil today and was backing up to check for oil spots and there were! In fact there was a fairly steady steam of oil and its coming off the passengers side of the engine from the oil filter and sending unit area.

There has been a little oil leak from I suspect the dual pressure sending unit for a while. Had another Mann Filter and bit the bullet and replaced it. When I did made sure nothing was scratched on the surface and that the old seal was not still in place and it all looked good. Checked an I still have the leak and it's just as bad.

Anyone ever had a dual VDO Sending unit have a leak? Waiting for the manifold and car owner to cool off before pulling it. But is there anything else I might be missing?

Did change from Castrol Syntec to Mobil One this oil change. Mobil One is a whole lot cheaper right now ($8 less for five quarts) than Castrol for some reason. Pretty sure that this is not the cause of the problem however, Inga has been running full synthetic for a while now.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Paul
