Wiper Motor 200 1987

I know this issue has been raised in other posts, but I thought I'd restate the obvious. When the front wipers stop working, check the ground strap first.

My wipers stopped working last fall, so of course I bought a new motor. I put it in and it worked for a little while then stopped. I pulled the relay, opened it up and it looked fine. The circuits seemed fine, too. I thought the switch on the steering column might be the culprit because once they stopped working, but by wiggling the switch they worked again.

I tested and tested again. I checked power to the motor and determined that power was getting to the motor when switched on.

So then I thought about the ground strap. I jumpered the ground strap to one of the bolts on the strut tower, and viola, it worked. So I slid out the ground strap and cleaned up the hole in the firewall and now the wipers work just fine.
