Clutch questions 200 1987

I have the M47 trans, it was rebuilt last year and the clutch was in great shape. The problem that I am having is that it seems to be slipping a bit more than usual when changing gears and letting the clutch out, especially under higher acceleration. For instance on a 1-2 shift coming onto the hightway, it seems to bog a bit before taking off as you let the clutch out. The clutch starts to engage when the pedal is about 2 inches from the floor. Do I just need to adjust the cable, or is there a more sinister problem lurking here?
