780 V-6 coming out 700 1998

I decided to pull the PRV engine out of the 780 and spend the money to build something custom with a T5 tranny to go back in. When I drained the radiator a thin film of motor oil was very visible on the top of the gallon or so of coolant in the pan. This wasn't evident a few months back when I ran this motor for a couple of days off and on. Did the liner seals tend to leak on these engines after they set up for a while? I would like to find out the cause before I sell it to someone for a spare.

Regards,
