quick rotor question 200 1989

Hi David ,

thanks for the reply,

Yes, i am trying to figure out why i get bad ignition problems in wet weather.

i get sparked or shocked through the rubber boot of the ignition wires,

my rotor and distributor cap is 2 years old so are the bougicord volvo brand ignition wires.
i just put in a new coil, cus that was the oldest and weakest link on the ignition maintenance.

when i pulled the rotor there was barely a little blackening and no pitting or signs of arcing on the rotor or distributor cap, but .. i figured the rotor from the top centre contact to the copper tip should be conducting electricity with very low resistance, (its set in epoxy or some resin .. but

and when i put the conductivity test to it i don't get a beep like i do to bare metal...

and when i check resistance on the rotor piece only from centre to copper tip (where the current passes through to touch the contacts on the distributor cap. . .) i get a resistance of 1100 ohms and i'm wondering if this is normal or if this is a sign of a faulty rotor and maybe what is bouncing the current back through the rubber boot on some of the ignition wires.

any ideas ?
