If you were to repaint your car.... 200

Would you remove the bottom trim along the doors? You know the wide plastic piece that sometimes fails to stick to the door.My 90 240DL although it is very shinny and looks really nice has a few small scratches and road chips in some places.I am thinking about having the entire car repainted in the original black color.I will be removing as much trim as possible including the window scrapers. My concern is removing the plastic trim.I guess after removing it will require a bit more sanding to remove the old adheasive.I know I can reattach it with the"red'3m tape. The part that mounts to the 1/4 panel is another story. It looks like it will get destroyed trying to remove it,seems to be held on with more than just "tape".I think this part has some really tough glue on it.So does it pay to remove the bottom plastic or just tape over it and paint to the edge?Your comments please.
