Poly suspension bushes 200 1988

Some of the suspension bushes are very tired on my '88 240 sedan. I noticed in the receipts that came with the car when I bought it that a mechanic noted that it needed rear trailing arm bushes in 2002. I have all of the receipts, and the work was never carried out. The same mechanic also wrote that it needed injector seals, which the previous owner also didn't act on. I replaced the injector seals, and boy did that improve the way the car idles! My question is that I'm trying to figure out which suspension bushes to buy. I don't have a press, so I am considering poly bushes that are sold without the outer casing. The seller claims that a press is not required to fit them -- but how realistic is this claim? Can the old bushes successfully be removed leaving the outer case undamaged and in place? Advice would be much appreciated.

David
