HIF6 question 140-160

It is the hot start valve and not the cold start choke. I found a screw but not a nut. Rhys confirmed it is a 2BA thread but no longer available new. If I don't locate one I can work around it.

I assumed when the engine was hot or on very hot days those hot start valves would allow any gas vapor to be drawn out of the carb. The adjustment is to allow the valves to be open at idle only. Ideal I guess is to try and prevent vapor lock under high temps.
