96 850 Info Gauge 1996

I at one time had a 93 850 GLE loved it…
I now have another 850 but it’s a 96.
This 850 is a basic and I’ve noticed the info gauge in the middle of the tach/speedometer dose not have the millage trip, fuel trip ect…
If I pull the current info gauge and replace it with a GLE info gauge along with the trip/reset switch will the car know its there or will other modification need to be done in order for the info guage to work.
Is the rest of the dash wired and ready for the upgrade or would this be a fruitless venture?
