ipd air conditioning compressor bypass kit 200 1984

Has anyone installed the ipd air conditioning compressor bypass kit on their 240?

I just installed it on my 84 245ti and found that the crank pulley and the power steering pulley didn't line up very well at all. I removed some of the tensioner shims in the crank pulley to move the belt back toward the block and added a washer to each of the screws when I installed the ipd spacer on the power steering pulley. These steps helped and the belt works but... it just seems like the pulleys should be better aligned. The tech support person I spoke with at ipd says it's probably fine but he didn't have any first hand experience with this conversion.

Question: Is there any way to move the powersteering unit forward (i.e. away from the firewall) so that the pulley aligns better with the crank pulley?

Thanks,
Corey
