So this weekend I went to Carlisle Pa. for the import car show. Took the 90 240DL.Should have known better.Every time I take this car to Carlisle something ALWAYS happen. One year a timing belt, another time a tranny solenoid,etc.,ect. But I digress. This time I got stuck in parking lot because the car would not start.I did a McGiver move, removed the small wire from the starter and used a piece of wire I had in the trunk to jump start it from the battery to where the small wire attaches on the starter.Worked fine.Got to the show, bought some sandpaper and cleaned the terminals and everything was ok or so I thought.Went to dinner that night the same thing happened.Used the wire to get back to the hotel, did a better job of cleaning everything and was back on the road,no problems.Got home sunday afternoon and turn the car off, unloaded the car and sure enough no start.Wire trick again. So is it the small wire gone bad somewhere in the harness,PIA? Or maybe the ignition switch, another PIA as I don't have a spare? Or could it be something else I don't know about? I don't think the wire is bad in the harness as this is the"newer" volvo wires,1990.Anything else to check?TIA
Nelson
PS the show was good, not too many vendors, alot of nice volvos and other imports.
The weather was good but in true Carlisle fashion it did rain saturday night and then cloudy on sunday
