If the shoe does not fit... 700 1990

The rear brakes on my 745 came to an end. The pads were grinding, the rotors were thin. I bought the rotors from FCP. I didn't buy parking brake shoes because I didn't think I'd need them. I was wrong.

When I took the rotors off the lining fell off the shoes. I think this was mostly from rust. Now that I had the car up on jacks I needed the shoes fast, so I searched locally. The only place the had them was NAPA. Made in England, no less.

I got these on and then I could not put the rotors on. The actuators are not seized and the strut is in the right place. I measured the actuator at the most retracted and it measured 44.5 millimeters. I put the shoes with the strut into the rotor and measured between the actuator seats - I got 43.5mm. Not gonna work there...

So, I am trying to figure out if I want to just grind that 1mm off or wait a few days for replacement from FCP. What do you think?
