Difference between 79 and 89 stabilizer 200 1989

Hi Russ,

Yup, it performs the same function. The only difference might be the 79 still may have had the mechanical stabilizer - a thermal device using heated wire and bimetal with contacts - meaning you could not perform the same voltmeter test I suggested to Jason and expect to find 10 volts. The mechanical stabilizer interrupts battery voltage in the proportion to drop its average to 10 volts over time that is inconsequential to the response time of the hot wire gauges.
