Engine Stalls while driving 55 200 1984

ok. for the past month or two, i have been having problems with my 84 244. it is running the b23f, with the LH-jettronic 2 FI system. fuel pump and filter, while oled, still allow plenty of fuel through, (checked it at the end of the fuel bar). when it stalls out going down the road, it most often will not restart until i open the hood, and unplug the computer there, then plug it back in. but these intervals are getting closer and closer together. i need to stop treating the symptom and fixing the real problem, but i am not sure what to look for. plugs, wires and distributor are new or like new, as is the battery and several vacuum lines. starter cranks around, but engine will sputter for several tries before it actually starts (usually 5 or 6 tries before it sputters to life). it has also stalled out just idling. sounds like it is skipping a cylinder every once in a while, but not sure what is causing it. any ideas?
