Prop shaft hangar bearing questions 120-130

I’m in the process of replacing the prop shaft rubber bearing hangar and bearing in my ’69 and I have a three questions that I couldn’t find answers to in the several manuals I have, which include the green set.

First I couldn’t find a torque value for the big nut that secures the bearing and hangar at the tailend of the forward shaft.

Second I have pictures of the bearing assembly in 3 different manuals that show a spring between the cap and the bottom of the rubber hangar for the Type 3 prop shaft support bearing. Neither my ’67 nor my ’69 have this spring, nor does there appear to be any provision for a spring – no bumps or dimples to hold one in place on either the cap or the rubber hangar. If I need a spring, can someone tell me the approximate dimensions and what keeps it in place? With the cap bolted tightly to the floorboards, the rubber hangar seems firmly captured.

Lastly can the splines of the aft shaft only fit into the mating section of the forward shaft one way? It appears as though the front u-joint on the forward shaft and the front u-joint on the aft shaft are misaligned by one tooth, but I have been unable to insert the spline where I would like it. I’ve inspected the spline structure and I don’t see anything that would prevent the spline section from being inserted at any clock position.
