I don't have a torque spec for the big nut. I guess it's just a "get it good and tight" thing.

There are two sizes of rubber support donut, and only the larger, later one has the spring. Odds are your '69 uses the same one as your '67, or that section of the tunnel would have to be different. '67 has the smaller donut with no spring.

The splines are not keyed in any way. You should be able to insert them however you need to. They can be picky to get started.
