Well, went out to get the 220 Estate that my son landed for me, in Billings. It is a beauty although a bit of a diamond in the rough. Needs a headliner, driver side door panel and front seats. As near as I can tell, the front seats that are in it are from a 140 series. They fit nicely, but just do not look right. So, anyone got any reasonably good seats in that custard color vinyl? I am going to be at the Midsomer festival in KC in a few weeks, so if you do have and are going to KC also????
So, at any rate, my son tells me that the B18 in the 220 is spewing oil from both ends - this is while I was gone in Africa. He was astounded when we started it this weekend and there was not a drip. "Do you suppose the old felt seals were dry, got wet and are now sealed?" I asked him. "What is felt?" says he. And so it went for the weekend. We also worked on his 1966 Triumph Spitfire, so he did get some good out of it all. Also, I almost had to battle my daughter-in-law for the 220!! "Dad, I'll tell you, this is the first old car she has ever even looked at twice!!" he told me. H-m-m-m! Maybe if I worked at it, she and the grandkids would look good in it???
Let me know about those seats and door panel...
