49 8256 would indicate B20B (twin carb), originally in a 142/144/145. It also looks like it could have been mated to either the M40 or M41 transmission. My source for this data is an original 140 parts catalog.

Of course at this point in time, you can probably be sure of only one fact... that your *block* was originally installed as described above. It would be anybody's guess as to the origin of the internals, the head, etc.
