Plug on Thermostat housing 444-544

Well, I did get the old water pump off the car, which was a picnic since the previous owner had snapped the head off one mounting bolt and that bolt was completely rusted to the pump housing. Now I have a new question. I had removed the thermostat housing and discovered that the plug that is screwed into the passenger side of the housing was completely rusted to the point that small holes are present in the center of the square socket. Is there a tool to remove this plug? I guess it would be called a square key? What size would it be? Are these plugs easily obtainable?
