Howdy,
Well, made the pilgrimage from Austin, TX to Tucson, AZ over the desert and successfully passed the border patrol, and now I'm looking for fellow 240 fans in Tucson to share a beer and maybe mutually figure out a few bugaboo's in our machines.
Goldie ran like a dream for 1000 miles in 100 degree weather, loaded to the gills with crap, inside and on the roof. I've hated the wagon overload coils from IPD since I've bought them, but for this trip, I installed them yet again and they were exactly what the doctor ordered!
A couple of weeks ago I posted about this high temperature reading I've had. Art B. and others were trouble shooting. I still have that, and now I've got this weird LOW idle - 300-350 rpm at rest and start up. Very consistent. Also a strange situation when my gas gauge gets to the red, I go fill it up, and I only need 10 gallons or so. It's very strange.
My RPM's also seem to read strangely. I had this audible "buzz" from the exhaust that manifested itself consistently for about a year at 2300 RPM. Now, suddenly, its happening at 2000 rpm.
All of this happened at once. Everything seems off. The only change being wiring up a new Walker universal O2 sensor from FCP about 10 days ago. No codes show that indicate lack of O2 sensor signal.
Could it be that stupid voltage stabilizer in the instrument cluster?
The hot running temp discussed two weeks ago on a lengthly post still stands.
Any Tucson 240 folks that would like to beer and brainstorm? Ideas from anyone on issues described?
Jason
