185R14 200

185R14 is the OE tire size for the wagon. In searching the board for more info that seems to be where the agreement on anything to do with wagon tires ends.

This is, I believe, referred to as an "82 series" tire. And 82 is what I have understood the aspect number to be for this tire. Should I abandon this notion?

195/75-15 and 205/70-15 seem to be the popular choices for replacement but by my calculations they would both be smaller in diameter than the OE size. This is based on the 82 assumption. Am I missing something here?

If I am not delusional, why is 205/75-14 not a good choice as a replacement for 185R14? Is this size wide enough that it will cause interference? It would seem to be barely 3/4" more across the tread. And only slightly more than that in diameter compared to the 205/70-14. And less than 3/16" more in diameter than the OE tire (if I have figured correctly).

I suppose what I really want to know is, has anyone here run 205/75-15 on a 240 wagon and if so, what was the result?
