The only thing you can teach someone is 'cause and effect'. Let him do the job, you are a supervisor more than a co-worker. It is your job to point out pitfalls.

If a job takes more than 2 hands, lend yours to the task, but make sure he does at least 80-90% of the work. If he doesn't have a radio in the garage, buy him a present so that time passes better. And use your anal knowledge as a guide to help him do the job at hand.

Also, only do one thing at a time. He is learning, so instruct.
