Thanks. A valuable lesson, but not exactly applicable here ....

Ken, like Trev, I hate to butt in here again, since you feel you are on track with your own diagnosis, but to me it is clear you miss the point of the post you respond to. It is not warning you, specifically, to be careful about how you orient your idle valve, it is experience talking, and a confirmation of what Rhys and others believe about a vacuum leak or other cause of uneven cylinder power sending you off on a wild distributor chase.

What ever happened to the manifold gasket swap? I'm pretty sure you could do one in the time it takes to read all the threads attached to this trouble.
