Quest for Air Conditioning. 200 1990

OK. So last year I purchased the A/C conversion kit and followed the instructions closely. I also installed a new condenser and a push fan. Now the question of getting the system vacuumed and charged. I’ve had more than one shop tell me they cannot deal with the shrader valve which came with the kit.
If I can find a pump for vacuuming with the right fitting is there any reason I can’t vacuum for the prescribed length of time and then put in some Freeze 12? If so, how much would the system take?
I’m trying to make this process simple, inexpensive and done. Too much to ask?
Thanks
