Displaced a/c pipe creates Problem replacing alternator belt. 700

When I had my a/c repaired about two years ago one of the pipes was moved that now blocks proper loosening of the compressor in order to remove the belt.
I dont want to discharge the system in order to fix this problem, as the a/c is working quite well.
Presently I have to remove the crank pulley in order to change the belts.
Is there another solution for this? the compressor loosens some, just not quite enough. a longer belt? Thanks
