Air conditioner high and low pressure manifold gauge test ports? R12? R134a? 200 1991

I have an 89 and a 91 volvo 240, and am wondering if any one knows where the high and low ports are on the car to hook up my manifold gauge set hoses? and if you need any special adapters other than the standard female schrader connectors on the hoses? also I believe the 89 has R12 in it originally, but I am not sure on the 91? I think it is also R12, does any one know what came with the car originally?
