93 240 Wagon: Speed Sensor possible replacements 200 1993

I just got a 240 wagon- and am pleased except that the Check Engine light is on. It runs, but if something should go wrong and the engine light is permanently on, how would I know? Don't worry about it said the former owner - I had it checked out and it was nothing." "Don't worry about it" said the former mechanic, "I couldn't find anything wrong. just take out the bulb for the light and then it won't bother you."

Using the cool dignostic box in the engine compartment I got error codes of 1 2 1 and 3 2 2 with the pigtail in slot 2 (mass airflow meter) and (check airflow meter hot wire). I went through the process to clear them, and they won't clear.

With the pigtail in slot 6 I got error code 2 1 4 (speed sensor). Thanks to Mathews Volvo Site (http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=24944) I had the diagnostic procedure of checking the codes, but wasn't able to do it myself so I went back to the mechanic who said "Yep - speed sensor is bad". So, there is a junked 1993 240 Sedan, and I can't tell if the speed sensor would be interchangeable. Anyone know, or should I not worry about shelling out the $180 for this part?
