any a/c experts out there? i have a '91 244 and the air is starting to blow hot when the AC is on. Was working fine last summer, but I bought the car only shortly before then, so I can't rule out a leak or some other system malfunciton.

i'm wondering...
1. how often is the compressor supposed to cycle on/off. mine's going turns on for 3 seconds then off for a few seconds over and over again--this seems weird to me, but maybe that's normal?
2. is there an easy way for me to visually tell whether the system has been converted from R12 to 134A?
3. re: retrofitting: if i have a licensed tech pump out all my leftover R12, can I do the rest of the retrofit myself with the Volvo kit? any tips?
