Stumped no more. 140-160

D-Jet is way ahead of SU's for cold weather. I guess you would be a lot happier if you had spare D-Jet parts, surely there are injected cars still around that people want to give away?

You may be right, Paul, but I've never had any problems with SUs in our local winter conditions. True, a block heater sometimes helps a bit, but even without it, my SU equipped Volvos have always come alive, even after the coldest nights, like -20°F. Such temperatures, however, are rare here near the coast where I live. Much more common is just around freezing and wet, and that's what raises hell with electrical contacts and iffy wires and is most likely to cause trouble when you are in traffic and watery, salt slush sprays up into the engine compartment, not when you start up the car in the garage.

Yes, I can get swap-in parts. They won't be for free, but I can find them. We'll see what happens when I get around to getting around to working on the car again - lots of other chores to tackle first.

Cheers,

Bob
