Can I change motor mounts by using a jack under the oilpan??

Hey everyone. I'm trying to get my 244 ready for driving. Been doing lots of maintenance on it.

My motor mounts are garbage, engine rolls dangerously far when I let off the clutch and if I try to engine brake. I'm going to drive through a windy highway road with lots of flatlanders.

Anyway, can I safely change the engine mounts by lifting the oilpan just enough to take the weight off the mounts with a floor jack, cushioned by a 2x4?
Am I going to go right through the oilpan? Is the pan cast, or forged?

Has anybody done it and screwed something up, or done it and been just fine?

Thanks
William
