Rewiring for internal-regulator alternator conversion...SOLUTION FINALLY FOUND!! 120-130

It's Delco Remy 1103056. The guy from the shop where I bought the alt said it was 65 amps although "63A" is stamped on it.

I think it is just the right size to fit under the hood where the generator was, but I may need to re-fabricate as the current one is too close to the top of the idler arm mount...leaving only 1/2 inch of clearance. I don't think it would be be pretty if the engine should go out of whack!

And if I use a smaller belt, the top of the alt would be too close to the exhaust manifold (I read somewhere here that too close to the heat would shorten the alt longevity).

The current bracket I fabricated puts the alt well above the lower radiator hose and away from the engine. I just need to make another one that would mount the alt lower and closer to the engine. That should give it more clearance from the exhaust manifold and the idle arm mount.

If successful, I may post some pictures of the latest fabricated mounts if anyone would like to to get some ideas.

-DS
