Newb Question: Drivers side drum dragging 120-130

When I got my 122s just before Xmas, I had the same problem with the drivers side drum dragging... When we took it apart I found that a C clip was missing on the parking brake apparatus that attaches it to the brake shoe in behind where you cannot see. It would appear it was missing for awhile as it was quite badly worn.. We placed a washer on it and malleted the end with a hammer so it would stay in place. You pretty well have to take it apart to see.. The passanger side was missing it`s clip as well but still stayed in place so no dragging..It almost appeared that when the brake shoes were replaced the clip was never put back as we did not find one in either drum..
