Hey everyone, as many of you know from the volley of posts that I've been throwing at you lately I've been doing some work on my car. A lot of work. Recently my Dad and I have done a number of things to her, including replacing the blower motor/heater core/thermostat and I had the odometer repaired (solder joints replaced). I mention these because they may be pertinent to what's wrong.
Anyway, after replacing both the aforementioned items (they happened the same week) I hopped on I-5 and noticed my cruise control didn't work. Figuring I just didn't hook up a vacuum line or something I didn't give it much thought. Then I tore into it this week while my dad was working on my A/C. I went through the simple stuff that Bentley says to check--fuse, brake lights, speedometer. Brake pedal and clutch pedal all seem to be within the tolerances mentioned. So then I did the vacuum valves, servo, and the vacuum pump. All were in good working order.
So then my thoughts turned to all the switches. Continuity tests all of them came back good as well. Which led me to the Cruise Control Unit. We did some tests, and have continuity between right-side of fuse and the #1 wire of Cruise Control Unit Plug, but no power/12v between #1 wire of Cruise Control Unit Plug and ground. How can this be? What am I missing?
