1990 740 GL starting problem 700 1990

Looking for some help with the problem of my Volvo not starting after it is warmed up.

For example, went to the gas station, fueled it up, and it would not restart, sputtered a bit but wouldn't run. When returning to the station the next day it started right up but after the drive home it would not start again.

I have to wait close to a day for it to start again, long after the engine has cooled down. Any suggestions?
