Balancing a drive shaft

Whacking on most anything relieves stress, especially my head!

The single U joint I replaced was extremely difficult to remove, and hard to get back in. I do not remember whacking it with a hammer.

This is the forward U joint we are discussing, should I unbolt it from the tranny and see if it moves freely? IIRC, I did move it nicely after the joint was installed.
