Lets try this again . . help for my old 144 140-160

Ok, nobody was willing to recommend a good mechanic here in town. So I will now be asking if there is anyone who can prove they are very good with the B20b engine and would be willing to help me determine if the engine is sound enough to make a 300 mile round trip, possibly rebuild or balance the SU carbs (Im not sure what they need) and get the fuel gauge and thermostat working again. I am rarely home what with work, which is why I wanted to be able to take the car somewhere, but if you have a flexible schedule please reply and I will determine what we can do. I live in Los Osos near San Luis Obispo.

HOWEVER, if you still have a good shop in mind, with tons of experience, please feel free to recommend someone too.
