Hi all, I've had a few bricks over the years, a pair of '86 240's and a P1800, none of which I have today though I wished I still had the P1800, that was a fun car. I've always done my own wrench work, from the basic brake job to complete engine and tranny tear downs.

Which brings me to my current volvo, a '94 960 sedan. Had the car about a week now and as always, Volvo mileage worries me about as much as VW diesels. A mild 186k on the 960. A nice dark green with leather interior {the power seats still work, bonus !} typical a/c issues, what bothers me is the nivomat shocks ..... after getting the sticker shock at Napa ..... I decided there has to be another way of doing it. I saw the conversion thread and that's probably the way I'll go with it. However .... I was wondering if any have heard, or seen someone use a set of coil overs instead of going the route of a set over over load springs and a seperate shock.

I have no clue yet what the dimensions are for the OE nivomats. I'm pretty sure I could source a pair of coil overs with that info. In either case, I won't rip the old ones out until I have the new stuff to put back in. Any and all info is appreciated.
