Aftermarket Digital Gauges--Cyberdyne and Autometer 200

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to put out a warning for fellow Volvo lovers wishing to install aftermarket gauges in their cars. I had a problem with a Cyberdyne green digital readout voltmeter. After only being installed in the car for two months the first digit began to intermittently fail to illuminate. The first digit (the 1 in 14.0) would only half illuminate then go completely dark while the other two digits would work normally. One could argue that you only need the last two digits, but it didn't look right and I felt that it should work for the trouble and money spent installing the thing.

Summit Racing was very good in handling the issue and are sending me an Autometer digital read voltmeter gauge (I'm paying the difference) with gratis shipping and sending a UPS man to pick up the faulty Cyberdyne. The Autometer water temp gauge is functioning normally and in fact is far easier to see during the day as well as being obviously more long-lived. I think it's worth the 50 dollar price difference if you're looking at digital gauges to go with Autometer.
I hope this helps someone.

Best,
Spock
