780 replacement motor chosen 700 1988

Well,

After toying with building another street rod around the 780, I decided to explore putting a modern engine in the Volvo to see if a high output V-6 would give satisfactory performance along with increased mileage.

What I finally decided on, after narrowing the choice down to either the 3.2L Isuzu V-6,(which uses an AW-72L tranny, or the Buick 3800 V-6 with an Eaton M-90 supercharger, is the Buick. I wanted a T-5 trans behind what ever I put in and the Buick will work better for that.

Hopefully, I will have the engine in the car for a mock up in about two weeks so some pictures will be available.

Regards,
