'97 960 -- a/c fan blower speed intermittent S90-V90

Hi everyone, I'd appreciate your thoughts on this.

In the past week, the heating and a/c blower fan on my '97 965 (164k) doesn't always match the desired fan speed setting == the fan speed is running slowly at times, then speeds up like normal, then drops back down again.

I cannot make the slower than normal blower fan speed based on changes in acceleration/deceleration, idling, driving under load or at speed / NOR what setting I have the ACC set to (defrost, floor vents, multiple fan speeds, air recycle, a/c off or on) -- but it does seem to happen mostly the first five minutes after I get into the car to drive it.

I'd greatly appreciate any help! Chris in TX
